First frost

The grass was crunchy this morning for the first time. Down in the valley, it was 34ยบ and very foggy (but not crunchy).

It was mostly cloudy last night for Trick-or-Treating, but the 5-day crescent moon was lighting things up between the cloudbanks.

This morning, it’s fogged in so hard that I can’t even see I-405; I probably can’t even see halfway to the freeway (it’s about 1/2 mile in the direction I’m looking).

Strangely, traffic was extremely light this morning; I was doing the speed limit the whole way in. That’s unheard of. People must be recovering from Halloween hangovers.

There may be something to this concept of starting “seasons” at the midpoints between equinox and solstice… because it suddenly feels like winter today.

Odd.
