Rainier Watch
It’s been pretty cloudy the last couple of days. Seeing Rainier is not even close to an option. As I look out the window, I can see the Factoria hill outlined in faint contrast against a flat gray sky.
Muzzle control
I passed my hunter education test last night with flying colors. If I could sum up all of hunter education in two words, it is these: muzzle control. Firearms have a “business end” (if I were punny, I would add … Continue reading

Rainier Watch
OK, this is getting silly. We came up here mid-March and again mid-April, and it rained for several weeks straight. Now, I’ve seen the mountain 4 days in a row. I am given to understand that it’s going to get … Continue reading
Rainier Watch
Third day in a row. Must be a full moon. 🙂 Mountain is in sharp contrast against background haze. Very thin and high clouds, sky is grey-blue. I can see some foothills that might be behind Rainier.
Rainier watch
Yep, there it is again today. If I get too many of these in a row, I might start calling it “summer”. Mountain has a few small clouds around the peak, and some puffy clouds in the background, in an … Continue reading
Rainier Watch
I aim to create a count of days on which I was able to see Mt. Rainier from the window in the office. I feel that this gives me some idea of whether it’s cloudy or clear, although it’s partly … Continue reading
Home on the range
Kristi and I spent some time on the rifle range today. I think this represented my third time shooting since I left the rifle team in high school. It was Kristi’s first or second time shooting. It was a short … Continue reading
Big rock out there
Today I was able to see Mt. Rainier in the distance from my office window. It’s only about the third time I’ve seen it since I started 3 weeks ago.
House hunting
Kristi and I found a house this weekend. We’re putting in an offer today, and of course, this is the part where things start getting interesting. Kristi had been searching for places online for several months, and we’d been out … Continue reading
