I was scanning the western horizon from the deck last night, and was immediately able to pick out the radio towers on Queen Anne Hill, and the SAFECO Tower. There are some hills north of the U District in Seattle that I was not able to identify; I’ll have to look at a map or chart to figure it out. I think one of them might be across the Sound — Bainbridge?
After a bit of hunting around, I was able to figure out that yes, indeed, you *can* see The Space Needle from the deck! At night, it’s hard not to see it, but during the day, you have to look in the right spot. It’s visible naked eye, but is spectacular in binoculars.
Kristi says we need one of those 25c viewing machines, and I agree. 🙂
