Gorgeous night

It was absolutely gorgeous out tonight. I could see maybe one or two clouds down by the horizon, and otherwise, it was clear, cool, and dark, dark.

Leo was high in the west, starting to set, with Mars riding near Regulus. Saturn is a bit harder to distinguish from Spica, although Saturn is definitely more yellow and Spica more blue.

Vega and Deneb were up in the east.

Both Cassiopeia and The Dipper are circumpolar at this latitude; I could see the entire W riding the northern horizon.

The moon was low, behind the trees to the south. Makes me wonder if I’ll be able to get any shots of Sagittarius at all from here.

What a splendid night.
