Rainier Watch

True to form, the weather in the PNW stayed crappy right up to 4th of July weekend, now it’s clear as a bell for the third day in a row and it’s like it was never rainy.

The mountain is bright and clear against a cloudless blue sky, very little haze behind the peak at all.

I was out in Clearwater for the weekend, and it did sprinkle a little part of the time I was there, but from Saturday onward, it was hot and sunny. Everyone came home a little sunburnt. I assume that the mountain was visible all those days, but I wasn’t at my desk, so I can’t be sure. I know it was visible last night as I was driving around town returning from the trip.

As an aside, traffic on “the return day” yesterday afternoon was appallingly light. I kept expecting the other show to drop, and I never really ran into any traffic at all, all the way up the I-5 corridor from Olympia all the way to the Everett end of I-405, and back down to Woodinville and then back to Kirkland. Very odd.

shrug. Summer has come, right on time.
