I have a second Zang character running at the same time as Bait the Daywalker.
The other character’s name is also Bait. But this new character is having an exceedingly good run of luck.
The first trip down to the dungeon, I came back to town and found a Staff of Darkness *and* the second sorcery book! I had to sell everything to afford the 1200gp book, but these things don’t come up often.
Next trip down to the dungeon, I came back with about 6 Brass Lanterns; nice $ from those. I also noted that I had some scrolls of ID in my inventory, so I ID’d my “Soft Studded Leather” and ended up with “Wexem”, Soft Studded 5, +9 (+1). Who knows what else it does, but wow, named armor at 10th level. Wandering around town further, I found the second Chaos book also! So here’s a 10th level guy with all 4 books already.
With the second Sorcery book, I now have Magic Mapping and ID, as well.
It is so much better to be lucky than good.
