Lucy is a born Maker

Lucy was home with pinkeye yesterday (about her 1,000th bout of it, nothing really to report), and I needed some bits and bobs, so off we went to the hardware store.

Now, hardware stores are not really the most family-friendly stores in the world. In particular, this one does not have a whole lot of carts. So Lu and I were walking around in the store so I could find my stuff.

Turns out she’s a closet tool-fondler! She was fascinated by the shiny bins of nails, screws, bolts, and washers. I could barely drag her away. She was tickled when I let her carry the bag of fender washers I was picking up; she played with them and shook them and held them proudly all the way to the front of the store.

I swear, the kid is going to be asking for a power drill for her birthday or something (or a drill press. She really wants a drill press. Hint, hint)!

I need to get her some safety glasses. (:
