So far, so good. The poignant self-flagellating seems to be mostly confined to the Cawti story at this point, which is nice.
The rest of it has the “sure, I have enemies, but bring it” type romp that is continuing through Iorich from Issola and Dzur.
I’m only partway through at the moment, so a full review will have to wait.
But I have already figured out that I’m going to have to re-read the book and pore over some of the earlier conversations for glimmers of what it eventually turns out to be.
…and that is what a new Jhereg book is all about.
