from the halfway point of the winter break, I have had a lot of time to unwind.
I’ve been fishing a lot. Cliff caught a nice 8# steelhead on the Ugly Stik. The river was in perfect condition, a lot of water but about 2 days since the last rain. There were 3 strikes that day, and I also caught 2 cutthroat trout on the egg hook. One made a nice lunch, the other looks to be breakfast tomorrow.
Spent some time geeking with Anthony and Christene. It’s fun to hang out and get some game time in. Burnout Paradise is a hit.
There should be a better way to deal with 360 gamertags. I should be able to carry mine in my controller or something. I note my Wiimote is at home this year, now everyone has Wii.
Played a little Magic the Gathering, too. The burn deck feels a little heavy on land, and could be slightly faster, to keep up with the Green Machine. I need to test it against Denied, too.
The Control Deck seems a little overburdened with delay and never quite gets to the point. Maybe that’s “control”. shrug. I need to learn Tinker.
I re-sorted the game sleeve. Still not happy with it.
I also put a bunch of books on Brett’s tag. Take that, resolution snobs.
Brust’s next book will be out next week. yum. He is a hit or miss kind of author, but even the misses get re-read now and again. Except Jhegaala, because that book sucked. I couldn’t *give* mine away. ick. Anyway, I took a break from Alvin Maker and Temeraire, and am reading Sethra Lavode. The book I never really thought was about her turns out to have her in it a lot. But the cover picture is all wrong, I mean seriously.
No electronics projects to speak of, although I realized that there is an IDE on my netbook now. arduino-0017 (:
Strangely enough, though, with all that, this is what I wanted to do with some spare brain cycles. Curious.
